CURE (wt)
feature documentary by Lillian Rosa & Marcus Richardt
in postproduction
CURE (wt) tells the incredible story of the charismatic underdog Ingmar Hoerr and the two most important women in his life: his wife Sara and the scientist Katalin Karikó. As a doctoral student, Ingmar Hoerr discovers the groundbreaking mRNA vaccination technology that now protects millions of people from Covid 19, but for years no one believes in his vision. He founds the company Curevac, fights against insolvency and scepticism and only barely survives a brain haemorrhage when he is told to save the world at the start of the pandemic. While Hoerr fights his way back to life, his friend and rival Katalin Karikó celebrates her final breakthrough and wins this year's Nobel Prize for Medicine. A film about great visions, successes, defeats and new beginnings.
